Coral Inspired Furniture (design diary)

I just fell inlove wit all three these pieces of furniture when i saw it. Coral is a fun design to work into furniture and can be very inspiring when designing. There are many of them, but mostly lights to see fabrics, vases, bowls and candlesticks. looking at the lamp its really chic. It can be playfull when you do fun colours like reds, greens, etc, and more sophisticated when using colors like silver, black, white, etc. I just love everything about it, the shape, colors, etc.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN S/S 10′ DRESS

I like this dress by Alexander McQueen, i love the way the colors blend into each other and the flow of the skirt. This ruffle and water-animal inspired dress is a significant piece for fashion. It is a beautifull dress with lots of character, the prints on it is computer generated art. the colors is just go together beautifully and makes your eyes flow.

Lucy Folk Jewellery (design diary)

Lucy Folk

‘Bejeweled Tortilla Chip’ Ring (Taqueria collection): sterling silver, 5 microns of 23.5ct yellow gold, citrines, orange and yellow sapphires.

Lucy Folk is based in Melbourne; she studied Gold and Silversmithing at RMIT University, where she graduated from in 2003.  Her  jewellery is inspired by food, Mexican food. I like her designs because it’s so different, these two pieces are from her collection inspired by Mexico, about the joy and unexpected beauty of food. Her jewellery is joyful. It is beautifully executed with amazing textures.  She loves playing with colors,  textures, shapes. which are sort of the things i want to incorporate in my ten piece project, to look at shapes, textures and colors, to bring out my theme.

Mathon Paris Jewellery (design diary)

Ring & Necklace Odyssey
White gold, diamonds & green tourmaline
I love this piece, When i first saw Mathon Paris jewellery, i just fell inlove with it. this piece is from their Odyssey collection. The theme I have chosen for my 10 piece project, relates to this collection kind of,
The latest collection is Odyssey, inspired by Homer’s epic poem, which describes Ulysses’ long voyage home after the Trojan War. The story revolves around the sea, these pieces take the shape of shells, while the texture of their gold recalls the sturdy sea urchin. The Cocktail collection is  formal and includes green tourmalines among with a multitude of diamonds set in white gold. i just love it cause its so elegant, delicate and it gives you the feel of what inspired it.

Hand Made Jewellery...

Hand made jewellery is personal, Someone took the time to hand manufacture those pieces, It has a different feel to it then machine made jewellery, Its not as well finished as machine made,  the mistakes is what makes a piece interesting and different. Hand made jewellery can be expensive but machine made jewellery is more expensive to make. Hand made jewellery comes in unique designs and styles, It can be given as a great gift to your friends and relative. You can even have it custom made according to their likeness and taste. There are many designers who provide sterling silver and pure silver jewellery to their customers. These pieces retain their individuality.
